Persian Safavid Tinned Copper bowl, IRAN 17th AD.
With bulbous sides and concave neck, incised with a continuous band of inscription round the neck, the body with Cartouches of arabesques above a frieze of pendent trefoils.
The nasta’liq Inscription:
(with a call on God to bless the Prophet MUHAMMAD AL Mustafa and the twelve Innocents:
AL Imam Ali AL Murtadha and Al-Hasan AL Mujtaba and AL Hussain AL shaheed bi Karbala and Ali Zayn AL Abidin and Muhammad AL-Baqir and Ja’far AL-Sadiq and Musa AL-Kadhim and Ali bin Musa AL-Ridha and Muhammad AL-Taqi and Ali AL-Taqi and AL-Hassan AL-Askari and Muhammad AL-Muhtadi(AL-MAHDI) Sahib AL Zaman) And the Name of the Maker Sharaf Al Din bin Mansur Juhrume.
