Ancient Biblical Terracotta Roman Herodian Oil Lamp, 50 BC – 50 AD.
“SECOND TEMPLE PERIOD; Time of Jesus and King Herod the Great”
Such this Lamps have lit homes during the time of Jesus, Rounded wheel made body, The nozzle was made separately and then attached to the body, Giving it a splayed shape, With concave sides, The Join between the nozzle and the body of the lamp was then smoothed with a knife (and therefore some call this type “knife-pared lamps”), Incised line across nozzle.
These lamps are common throughout the Holy-Land, Such as Jerusalem and Judea.
